About MyGreenBalloon

MyGreenBalloon is a grassroots organization that is committed to providing information and communications to increase the overall effectiveness and the number of people who want to learn, act, and contribute to helping the environment.

MyGreenBalloon is organized as a California public benefit corporation for educational purposes.

The mission statement of MyGreenBalloon is "to provide educational information on environmental challenges and appropriate responses to those challenges, by means of publications, communications, events, seminars, and other educational goods and services that encourage environmentally beneficial changes in human awareness, attitudes, preferences, interactions, and daily activities."

MyGreenBalloon is organized by individuals wanting to help people realize the changes that must be made to save the environment.

Robert Brehm, co-founder of MyGreenBalloon, is the senior executive of Green Mountain Capital Group, which helps environmentally oriented private companies get financing and learn to successfully become public companies. Previously, Bob was the senior executive of an environmental services company with subsidiaries that cleaned up pollution in groundwater and soil using naturally occurring, safe micro-organisms that consume toxic contaminants. Bob holds B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of California - Berkeley. "Captain Bob" is an avid sailor.

	Fred Laughter, co-founder of MyGreenBalloon, is a writer and publisher of environmental communications. His background includes publication of environmental baseline studies, oceanographic research reports, and air pollution modeling studies. Fred holds B.A. degrees in English and History from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. Interests include hiking, camping, and nature photography.
	Angie Cox Myers, Charter Member, is retired after five decades of Methodist missionary work and youth program leadership with various churches. Angie graduated from Radford College, Virginia, during World War II. Living now in Virginia Beach, Angie is a strong advocate for positive approaches to making the world a better place.
	Vanessa Laughter, Charter Member in My Green Balloon, is a senior at the University of California Santa Cruz, where she's majoring in psychology. Vanessa's goals include earning a graduate degree in psychology and becoming a clinical practitioner. Vanessa is the onscreen talent in MyGreenBalloon: The Movie.
	George "Tex" Wood, Charter Member, is an English professor and a published poet and novelist. Tex graduated from Duke University and earned a Master of Fine Arts at UNC-Greensboro. In addition to teaching and writing, Tex is personally constructing a modest residence in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia.
	Sara Laughter, Charter Member, is an editorial intern of MyGreenBalloon. Sara is a senior at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo, majoring in creative writing with studies in water science. While in high school, she founded her school's Environmental Club. Sara's interests include surfing in California, Hawaii, and Costa Rica. Sara made a 3-minute video, MyGreenBalloon: The Movie.
